|
| Over 1.3 million families in Canada are in need of affordable housing right now, and 1.6 billion around the world are living in homes that are not affordable, overcrowded, unsafe or all three. On World Habitat Day, Habitat for Humanity around the world will raise its voice to emphasize the importance of simple, decent and affordable housing. | |

International
Day of Prayer and Action for Human Habitat |
The Day of Prayer began in 1983 to make housing a matter of conscience.
The intent was to place in the hearts, minds and souls of people everywhere
the idea that poverty housing is unacceptable. The New Testament passage
from 1 John 3:17 teaches us that we must respond to those in need. |
